About Shared Web Hosting

One thing to keep in mind with shared Web hosting is that the host provider may unintentionally (or on purpose) over sell a server that has too many sites. The result will be a drain on resources and slow running sites. You definitely don’t want to be on a server that is too slow. Google has come out recently and stated that site loading time will be included in their ranking algorithm.

What this means is that if your site is on a slow enough server it could actually affect your search ranking. If you want to start off right and plan on taking this serious as a business it may be worth it to invest in a VPS or dedicated server. If you have experience with servers then you can get an unmanaged solution that allows you to run and maintain it yourself.

There are many plans available for the average Webmaster that also include maintenance, backup and other server support to make your job easier. The cost for these types of plans can be higher but you are paying for performance and stability here, which are two things that are very important for a Web site business.

You can compare Web hosting to find the best hosting package for your needs.
