So you’ve built a Web site and want to know how to get it ranked better and faster? Here are the top 10 things you can do to help boost your site in the search engine rankings. These tips apply to any Web site including html based CSS designs as well as WordPress or other CMS blogs. 5. Use a nice meta description tag that will attract people to click through to your Web site
6. Make sure to name your pages to exactly match the keyword you are targeting and use hyphens in between instead of spaces. (i.e your-page-keyword-name.php)
7. Optimize images by including the keyword you are targeting as the alt tag
8. Make sure all of the pages of your site are interlinked sufficiently and use a logical category structure
9. Use both a physical sitemap page and a sitemap.xml file that the search engine spiders can use to index all of your content quickly
10. And the mother of all SEO optimization tips…..DO PROPER KEYWORD RESEARCH TO BEGIN WITH. There is probably no way that your going to outrank a site that has millions of backlinks no matter how optimized your site is. Backlinks count for quite a bit in the SEO game.
